Hi,
I’m Jessica Manzo Victoriano, a Spanish-to-English translator based in Iowa. However, I was born and raised in Stockton, California, by immigrant parents. As a heritage Spanish speaker, I developed a passion for languages later in life. During my childhood, my sisters and I were our parents’ and family translators. Having experienced this at such a young age, I hated to “translate.” This ideal changed as I found my way through college. Turns out I only hated translating because I didn’t know those strange, complicated words at the age of nine.
During undergrad, I applied to work as a medical interpreter for a language service provider. Surprisingly, I was hired, and it was there that I trained and pushed myself to keep learning. I decided to major in Spanish and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University. After many years working as an interpreter, I decided to challenge myself further by pursuing a Master’s degree in translation at Kent State University. I’m proud to be part of the graduate class of 2024. I no longer work as an interpreter, but I am grateful for this experience.
Now I’m happy to help my community by providing translation services to families, language service providers, and professionals. Feel free to reach out. You can email me at jessica@jmvtranslations.com or click the button below.
